Travel is the secret to happiness

In any case, it is the assumption we would want to make in light of the results of a 2017 Cornell University investigation. According to studies, spending money on experiences rather than tangible goods increases happiness. The justification? We “adjust” to objects, which suggests that the happiness we experience after making a purchase fades over time as we grow used to it. On the other hand, encounters continue to make us happy every time we think about them.

SAREK NATIONAL PARK From Sweden

Sarek National Park (Swedish: Sareks National Park) is a national park in Jokkmokk Municipality, Lapland, in northern Sweden. Established in 1909, the park is the oldest national park in Europe. It is adjacent to two other national parks, namely Stora Sjöfallet and Padjelanta.
The most noted features of the national park are six of Sweden’s thirteen peaks over 2,000 m (6,600 ft) located within the park’s boundaries. Among these is the second highest mountain in Sweden, Sarektjåkkå, whilst the massif Áhkká is located just outside the park. The park has about 200 peaks over 1,800 m (5,900 ft), 82 of which have names.

With the completion of this task, in 1867, the British created a horizontal cut 1400 feet long and 18 feet deep along the Alagalla rock to lay the railway line, which was completed to Kandy. A large water flow washed away the canal and the railroad several times.
By the beginning of the 20th century, it was realized that this solution was a death trap during the rainy season, and it was decided that the tunnel should be built as originally planned. The 1307 ft (400 m) long tunnel through the Alagalla rock was constructed between 1905-1906. As this tunnel is located between tunnels 5 and 6, it is named tunnel 5A. It is also the second longest railway tunnel in Sri Lanka, the longest being the Singimale Tunnel, which is 1865 feet (558 m) long. The new Matara Beliatte 2018 ft (615 m) long Nakuttiya Tunnel will soon reach this location.
